The Importance of Wire Selection in Automotive Wire Harness Processing
Automotive wires with different specifications require different processing methods and have specific requirements for electrical performance, temperature resistance, and abrasion resistance. Ensuring vehicle stability is the top priority for automakers. Whether it is for the engine, steering control, or braking systems, wires must be strictly procured according to industry standards; otherwise, severe safety hazards may arise. As a long-established automotive wire brand with years of cooperative experience with automakers, we have summarized the following wire selection requirements:
Components such as the starter motor, alternator, and battery require wires capable of carrying high currents, and the insulation layer must be able to dissipate heat rapidly.
The environment around the engine and transmission is characterized by high temperatures and abundant corrosive gases and liquids. Therefore, the wires for the engine harness must be heat-resistant, oil-resistant, vibration-resistant, and friction-resistant.
The wire harness used in the trunk is frequently bent and generally requires protective sleeves. The internal wires should be made of cold-elastic materials to ensure normal operation.
Weak signal sensors require shielded wires, such as knock sensors, crankshaft position sensors, and ABS wheel speed sensors. The ABS harness assembly requires stranded wires with more than 133 strands, capable of withstanding high temperatures of 150-200℃, featuring a hard and wear-resistant outer protective insulation layer.
